LOUIS VUITTON FALL 2011

Yes our main man Marc Jacobs has gone and produced one of the best shows of the season for Louis Vuitton. I must say I love subtle theatrics on the runway, it's like watching a good film, as opposed to high drama that's too costumey and loud. His show was perf. Set in a two story tent erected at the Louvre with four gilded elevators, the slightly fetish themed production featured some heavy hitters like Carolyn Murphy, Amber Valletta, Carmen Kass, Jessica Stam, Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss who surprisingly smoked a cigarette as she strode down the runway oblivious to France's public smoking ban. Inspired by "the transient lifestyle of hotel living" Marc explains:
“It was supposed to be a hotel, it’s actually my experience at Claridge’s. I love when I see these exquisite creatures get out of the elevator, and some of them would be maids, hookers, mistresses, wives, criminals . . . I’ve been in plenty of hotels in plenty of countries at this point, and it’s very interesting to see who leaves at what time of day, and what they’re wearing the day after.”
Pure genius.
